On December 30, 2008, Jilin Fertilizer & Pesticide Group Co., Ltd., which was restructured into Sinochem Fertilizer Co., Ltd, a wholly subsidiary of Sinofert, completed the SAIC registration procedure and changed its name to Sinochem Jilin Changshan Chemicals Co., Ltd., indicating the completion of acquisition by Sinochem Fertilizer Co., Ltd. Now Sinochem Fertilizer has completed the increase of the capital and holds 90.81% of the equity interests of the restructured company.
Located in Songyuan of Jilin Province, Sinochem Jilin Changshan enjoys a favorable market position in the Northeastern part of China with a urea production capacity of 300 kt/a and a bbf capacity of 400 kt/a. With the acquisition, Sinochem Fertilizer’s total capacity will exceed 10 mmt/a and become the largest fertilizer manufacturer in China.
